Let’s get started 👇

Is it true that Turkey’s most expensive or highest-reviewed clinic is the best?

That should be the case, right?

But it isn’t.

Usually, every medical situation is treated a specific way with a few adjustments, but hair transplant surgeries differ based on various conditions, and different methods should be used for each person.

Since no clinic has expert surgeons in all the different hair transplant methods, no clinic can be perfect for everyone.

So a higher price and great reviews don’t always equal great hair restoration results.

But what does?

Let’s understand how you can find the right clinic for you:

How Do You Find the Best Hair Transplant Clinic For You in Turkey?

So you’ve decided to go through with Turkey for your hair transplant, whether it is for the much more affordable price compared to the rest of the world or the top clinics with great success rates.

But there are hundreds of clinics for hair transplants in Turkey, and if you eliminate the ones with low online reviews/case studies, basically any proof that they know what they’re doing, you’ll still have a few dozen clinics to consider.

Most patients go with the one that has the best equipment or the best online review history, but they might not be the right one for you.

In this section, we’ll show you how to find the right clinic, or you can use our smart app to find it for you.

Step 1: Find out how many grafts you need

The first step is finding out what exactly you need in terms of the area that needs to be covered and how many grafts you need to do so.

This information will help you decide on the hair transplant method you need for success, so it’s crucial.

Although the graft counts you come up with will be different from what the surgeon will eventually decide on, the difference will usually be slight, so it’s safe to act with your own calculations.

You can use the Norwood-Hamilton scale to determine which stage your hair loss has progressed to and use the table below to get a rough number. Alternatively, you can just use our smart calculator to get a very close calculation based on your skin/hair type and hair loss progression.

The Hamilton-Norwood Scale (Img Source)
Minimum Grafts Needed Maximum Grafts Needed
Stage 1 1000
Stage 2 1000 2500
Stage 3 and Stage 3 Vertex 2500 3500
Stage 4 3500 4500
Stage 5 4500 6500
Stage 6 6000 8000
Stage 7 8000 10000

Step 2: Decide on the best method for your case

The next step is to find the best method for your hair transplant surgery, which will significantly narrow down the clinics you’re considering.

Turkey, especially Istanbul, has numerous clinics that specialize in different methods, but 6 methods stand out:

  • FUT: If you’re someone with extensive hair loss (beyond stage 4) and aren’t really concerned about having a linear scar on the scalp, this method is optimal for you as it will allow for many grafts to be transplanted in a single session.
  • FUE: If you’re someone who’d prefer a less invasive procedure with minimal scarring (tiny dot scars), have moderate hair loss, and are willing to keep your hair short, this method might be the one for you.
  • Unshaven FUE: If you’re wishing to keep your existing hair length and return to your regular lifestyle immediately after the procedure, this might be the right method for you, as it does not require shaving the donor or recipient areas.
  • Sapphire FUE: If you’re seeking a high-precision method with reduced scarring and faster healing, Sapphire FUE uses a sapphire blade to create the recipient sites, providing more accuracy and less tissue damage.
  • DHI: If you’re looking for high-density hair transplantation and precision in terms of the angle, depth, and direction of implantation, DHI uses a special pen-like device for the procedure.
  • Robotic Hair Transplant: If you seek a technologically advanced approach to hair transplantation, offering precision and consistency, especially if you have darker darker and straight hair, Robotic Hair Transplant can be the method for you.

Looking at before-after photos, understanding which method best suits your hair/skin type and preferences, and knowing how each surgery is conducted will help you understand the method that you’re going to be more inclined towards.

Step 3: Find the right clinic according to your situation

Now that you have an understanding of what type of surgery you’re exactly looking for, you can narrow down your list of clinics and choose one.

Before deciding on a clinic:

  • Get a detailed understanding of their processes: Almost all clinics have information available regarding what they provide, how they provide it, their staff, available tools, etc. Try to read as much as you can to make sure it fits right with you
  • Go through online reviews: Especially Trustpilot, Realself, Reddit, and communities dedicated to hair transplants on Facebook can provide accurate information; which is what we also base most of our reviews on.
  • Start talking to the surgeon: Most clinics don’t have the hair transplant surgeon contact you at first appointment, instead a patient representative talks to you and makes a broad diagnosis. Try to get in direct contact with the surgeon and have them answer your questions.

Although pricing is a key reason why many people prefer Turkey for hair transplants, it should be the last thing you look into when choosing a clinic.

A failed hair transplant surgery where most of the transplanted hair doesn’t survive will either be like pouring money down the drain or require you to undergo another surgery, which will at least double the cost. Reliability, security, and health should always be your priority.

Top Clinics in Turkey According to Our Rankings

Here are the top clinics in Turkey for hair transplant surgeries according to our findings, experience, and rankings:

1- Asmed Clinic – 4.1 Points

Asmed clinic is one of the biggest hair transplant clinics in Turkey, and the majority of reviews praise the clinic for results and facilities.

Led by Dr. Koray Erdogan, who has years of experience in the field, the clinic does FUE surgeries and PRP injections to restore your hairline.

The clinic is very transparent with its pricing and packages, also there is an option to pay extra money to get unshaven hair transplants or a hair transplant that’s done by Dr. Koray Erdogan himself.

2- UnitedCare Clinic – 4.6 Points

UnitedCare is a more recently-established clinic, but they have the highest score based on our parameters.

Dr. Utkan Kiziltac is a dermatologist in practice, and his treatment options focus on different variations of FUE and DHI surgeries with supplementary treatments and methods such as stem cell transplants, PRP, and use of bio enhancements.

Although the clinic offers good and reliable treatments based on existing content and reviews, there aren’t as many reviews as with other clinics. So, if the satisfaction changes in future reviews, we’ll update the score.

3- Dr. Serkan Aygin – 3.4 Points

Dr. Serkan Aygin is a dermatologist and one of the top hair transplant surgeons in Turkey with years of experience (10,000+ surgeries) and multiple awards.

His clinic does DHI and FUE surgeries, and an overwhelming amount of reviews are satisfied.

The biggest downside is Dr. Serkan Aygin isn’t usually the surgeon that operates the surgeries; there are usually medically-licensed technicians who operate on your scalp.
