Although the price is not provided, all-inclusive package details are listed. These packages simplify the patient’s time in Istanbul since everything is organized thoroughly. Clients can also select additional services in line with their wishes in Doku Medical.

Dr. Serkan Aygin offers three different packages. The only difference in the first two hair transplant packages is the hair transplant technique.

Dr. Serkan Aygin Clinic offers hair transplantation with a maximum number of grafts for a fixed price. That’s a good thing preventing false graft count reports & overharvesting. The graft count is impossible to track by the patient during 8-10 hours of real operation.

Fixed price is also good since the price may get very high in mega sessions with varying price policies. If the price varies and the hair transplant cost per graft is 1.5€, the total amount charged would be €7500 for 5000 grafts.

Also, the cost of hair transplant services in Serkan Aygin Clinic is slightly above the average of Turkish hair transplant clinics.

When you arrive in Istanbul, you will be greeted by a clinic representative and escorted to the VIP transfer to enjoy a ride to your hotel.

A 3-day stay in a 4-star hotel is included in all packages. In our opinion, 1 night extra for the rest and recovery is essential for graft health since the 8-10 hours of surgery is pretty tiring. However, we didn’t see the 5-star hotel option that many clinics offer in basic packages, which is a minus.

On the European side of Istanbul, the clinic is at a central location and easy to access. It is only 42km from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) and 36km from Istanbul Airport (ISL). One of the biggest shopping malls in Istanbul, Cevahir Shopping Mall and Trump Towers Mall are very close to the clinic.

Surgery Methods and Doctor Involvement: 2/5

Dr. Serkan Aygın Clinic offers many services for men and women, including hair & beard transplant and eyebrow transplant. 

The hair transplant techniques are FUE, Sapphire FUE, DHI, or direct hair implantation. The clinic also offers hair treatment options such as mesotherapy, PRP, and LLLT (Low-Level Laser Therapy).

Dr. Serkan Aygin’s experience in the beard and hair transplant industry is good, but it is not certain that he will perform your treatment. In addition, there is no information about the backgrounds of other doctors. The hair transplant clinic is known as one of the “hair mills” in Turkey, accepting numerous patients in a day.

Also, trauma and blood supply to hair grafts are critical factors directly affecting graft survival rates in hair restoration. After hair transplantation, hair grafts may wait about five days to be reconnected to the blood supply again. Without bio-enhancements, some precious grafts may die. Dr. Serkan Aygin does not perform Bio-enhanced Hair Restoration. That’s a minus in our review.

Laser-assisted natural and symmetrical hairline drawing is the default in each package. However, we’ve found no information about telogen and miniaturization examination, which is crucial for surgery planning and coverage estimation.

I returned for a correction. I left with stress, pressure, and no accountability.

Three years after my first hair transplant at Dr. Serkan Aygin Clinic, I returned for a correction because the first procedure didn’t give the expected results. I followed every single recommendation — medication, aftercare, everything. Most grafts fell off, and there was little to no improvement.

I contacted Alexandra, their representative in Romania, who had been hard to reach throughout the years. She finally helped schedule my return and confirmed I would receive 1,500 grafts under warranty.

When I arrived in Istanbul, I expected professionalism. Instead, I was brought into a room with the doctor, translator, and staff, and told that 1,500 grafts “won’t look good.” They tried to convince me to pay for a full procedure. First €3,900, then €3,400, finally €2,300 “special price” (which included the 1,500 warranty grafts). I was told clearly: “If you don’t pay now, we’ll only do the 1,500 — but it won’t look nice.”

I felt cornered. I was already marked on my scalp. I accepted — not because I wanted to, but because I knew what another surgery meant, and I wanted a result worth the pain.

I went back to the hotel to get the cash. I was given a basic invoice with a 5% card fee warning. I paid €2,300 in cash to the translator in another office. No receipt. No fiscal invoice. Nothing.

Then I had to sign several documents in a hallway — not in an office, not with time to read them. I saw that many forms stated that the clinic holds no responsibility if something goes wrong. There was no real chance to understand what I was signing.

The surgery lasted about six hours (3 PM to 9 PM), much shorter than my first procedure which was 12 hours. I was told the graft count would be similar, but the time difference was never explained.

At the end, I asked to go to the bathroom. The translator told me there were about 20 minutes of grafts left to place. When I came back, everything was packed up, my head was bandaged, and I was sent to eat. What happened to those grafts? Were they placed? Rushed? Thrown away? Nobody said a word.

Post-surgery, I was handed medications — but I still had the IV cannula in my arm. I waited. I messaged the translator. Her reply? “You can go home with it.” I ended up finding someone from another floor to remove it.

The next day, I was told two different appointment times: 9:50 by the clinic, 10:50 by the translator. I arrived at 10:00 and no one knew I was coming. At the laser session, I was given reused protective glasses that I didn’t see being disinfected. The strap went directly over the wounded donor area.

I called Alexandra to explain everything. I was still in Istanbul. Her response: “What’s done is done. You should’ve called me from the office.” But she knew when I was coming. She had my pictures, history, everything. These things should’ve been discussed before I flew to Turkey, not during negotiations in a room full of pressure.

She showed no empathy, no responsibility, no support.

I followed every rule. I returned at my own expense. I paid again, went through the trauma again — only to feel like just another number. Sadly, I can’t recommend this clinic based on my experience.

Horrible experience

I have been to this clinic 5 years ago because of their reputation, and it was great. Great staff, experienced and at the time one of the only clinics proposing DHI method. I went back this time, and it now scalled it to a factory level. It’s fine when volume is not detrimental to quality. All the service outside operations have improved. However, the operation itself has deteriorated big time, which is still for me the most important part. I cannot speak of other teams, but my team was very young and inexperienced, and the supervisor was almost inexistant. The anestesia didn’t last more that 15min and the operator, didn’t know how to do a local anestesia correctly neither use the DHI method in a skilled way which resulted in extreme bleeding and extreme pain which left me trembling at the end of the surgery. The number of plasma crusts on the morning on the scalp is significative of the harshness used and lack of technique in the reimplanting.

You take DHI to normally preserve as much as possible the old hair, and it’s supposed to be when masterised low invasive and low bleeding. That’s exactly not what happened. After speaking with anestesist, the product and dosages haven’t changed, so the conclusion was that the methodology of reimpant was not masterised correctly by the staff and far to harsh. The team was extremely disorganised and had multiple people reimplating starting one side and going to other… no methodogly. They started reimpant, then went back to extracting, then decided to extract chest and beard at the same time… I am not sure they have been trained like this. The supervisor was in the corridor on the phone and monitoring multiple blocks. The cheery on the cake is staff using iPhone and apple watch in the block. I mean, I understand operation is long, but this is unacceptable for hygiene and bacteria. I no high quality establishement, you have staff on their phone in the block… I perhaps fell on a junior team, but as a client, it’s not my problem, I pay the same price as others and so have the same treatment. I should have had an experienced member, especially when I am a returning client. We dont know what doctor is operating you, no indication on the number of surgeries he executed, and it’s decided last minute. There is no one explaining anything in the block on the procedure day. the translator is inexistant, supervisor, inexistant, and left with staff not speaking well English.

It’s a major disappointment for this clinic, which was at the top at one point and now for me at the bottom…. I have referred a lot of people to go to them and now unfortunately will not anymore after this horrible experience. I hope they haven’t damaged my scalp…

Please approach with caution and don’t rely solely on the positive reviews or the ‘Instagrammable’ hype.

Unfortunately, Dr. Aygin was unavailable at the time of my ‘consultation’ and another doctor stepped in to design my hairline. When I raised concerns about how low it was being placed, he abruptly walked out of the room without any discussion or explanation.

Being far from home and already committed to the process, there’s a lot of pressure to go through with the procedure, trusting that you’re in capable, professional hands. However, I experienced little to no proper consultation, significant language barriers, and an attitude from the attending doctor that I found dismissive and uncaring – which was deeply unsettling given how vulnerable I felt in that situation.

My initial concerns about the hairline proved valid. I’ve since undergone corrective surgery in the UK, which cost £5,500. Unfortunately, the issues didn’t end there – the donor area was over-harvested, leaving visible bald patches at the back of my head. I’m now facing a further £1,500 expense for scalp micropigmentation to camouflage this damage.

Please be extremely careful when making your decision. My experience has been both emotionally and financially draining.

I had been interested in doing a hair transplant for some time and researched different clinics in Europe and Turkey. When I first contacted the Dr. Serkan Aygin Clinic, I was impressed by how quickly they responded and how detailed their information was.

I was in close communication with Berk Cetin, the clinic’s medical consultant, who was always available, answered every question clearly, and never left me waiting. From the moment I arrived in Istanbul, everything was organized professionally. I was picked up from the airport in a comfortable car and taken to my hotel.

The next day, I had my first consultation at the clinic. Berk was waiting for me in the lobby and welcomed me warmly. The clinic itself is beautiful …more like an art gallery than a medical center …which immediately made me feel comfortable. Berk showed me around and explained the entire process step by step, giving me full confidence that I was in safe, professional hands.

On the day of the transplant, the procedure lasted about 6 hours. The doctors and nurses were outstanding. They explained every step, treated me with care, and made me feel valued as a patient. After the transplant, I was offered a nice lunch at the clinic cafeteria and then returned to my hotel. Later that evening, Berk even messaged me to check on my condition, ask if I had any discomfort, and offer support if I needed anything.

The following morning, I returned to the clinic to have my bandages removed. Once again, Berk was there to assist me, explain the aftercare process, and make sure I was doing well.

I honestly have no words to fully express how satisfied I am with the service, care, and professionalism of the entire team. They made me feel comfortable from start to finish, and I could clearly see that they treat every patient with the same kindness and attention.

It’s been over 3 years since my DHI hair transplant and the results are amazing. I flew from the US to Istanbul to get the procedure and everything was well coordinated and the process went seamlessly. I was a Norwood 3 vertex and had 4,600 grafts transplanted–3,800 frontal and 800 on the crown.

The DHI procedure went very quickly with a team of 3 to 4 including the surgeon–I believe we finished in <5 hours. After the first 12 months, I have to say I was slightly worried as the left frontal region had not filled in substantially and the crown region was sparse.

For me, it was in the post-18 month timeframe where I experienced significant results with the left frontal and vertex regions fully coming in. Now after 3 years, I am very happy with what I consider to be an incredible result. It’s so amazing to have a full head of hair again!

Displaying package prices on the website is a critical aspect of being transparent. Patients want to question whether they are offered different prices than others, and the lack of information on this topic is a critical shortcoming.

One disadvantage is that Dr. Serkan Aygın provides 4-star accommodation, and 5-star hotels are even offered by default in many mediocre clinics.

Another drawback is the lack of hair transplant surgeon involvement. As a dermatologist having such an experience, he would contribute to the results of the patients. However, he chooses to leave the job to his technicians.

Even if the surgeon is very famous worldwide, he offers affordable prices. Also, the clinic provides hair treatments such as LLLT, mesotherapy, and dermocosmetic & cosmetic procedures such as filler and botox for competitive prices.

According to us, Dr. Aygin and his crew perform successful surgeries despite the doctor’s low involvement. And we ensure hair transplant candidates the quality of service of the clinic.

Dr. Serkan Aygin was born in Ereğli, Konya in 1968. After graduating from Konya High School in 1985, he entered the Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in the same year and started his medical education. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1991.

Then, between 1991 and 1993, he specialized in Pharmacology at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. In 1993, he started his dermatology specialization at Vakıf Gureba Hospital.

Having received “Dermatological Surgery” training at Ege University Dermatology Clinic in 1997, Dr.Serkan Aygın became a Dermatology Expert in 1999.
